Welcome New Board Members

The Rev. Shayna J. Watson
Associate Rector of Saint James Episcopal Church and The Urban Well

The Rev. Shayna J. Watson serves as the Associate Rector of Saint James Episcopal Church and The Urban Well, under the leadership of Father David Peck, in downtown Lancaster. She is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association for Professional Chaplains, having served at Lancaster General Hospital, Women and Babies Hospital, Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Penn State’s
Children’s Hospital, and now with Hospice & Community Care. As a community activist, Rev. Watson serves on various boards that address the needs of children and youth, culture and arts, racial and gender equity, and accessibility for various abilities.

Shayna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and African Diasporic studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a Master of Divinity from the Lancaster Theological Seminary, and a diploma from Virginia Theological Seminary. Shayna is the Creator and Founder ofΘθeoCon (pronounced Thee-Oh-Con): Where Theology Meets Pop Culture Convention, a one-day comic book convention-style event, a first of its kind that provides a platform to talk about the intersection of morality, faith and fiction.

David Groff
Vice President, Groff Funeral & Cremation Services

Dave joined Groff Funeral & Cremation Services, as a fourth generation funeral director with his family’s business, in 2015 with the acquisition of Fred F. Groff Funeral Home. Dave is responsible for the marketing of Groff Family Funeral Home and Groff Event Center. Prior to coming back to Lancaster, Dave held many sales and marketing positions in sports beginning with the Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Coyotes. Dave was instrumental in the inception and growth of Branded Cities, a premier global out-of-home advertising company specializing in iconic media in iconic locations.

Following in his mother Ellen’s footsteps, Dave serves as a Board Trustee for the Fulton Theatre, contributing on both the marketing and development committees as well as co-chairing the Fulton Follies for two years. He enjoys serving on the Lancaster Museum of Art/Demuth Foundation Board and contributing to the development committee and co-chair of 2018 Trees Galore. Dave joined Sunrise Rotary in 2018 and assists with sponsorships to the Club’s major events. Dave is a member of the Tucquan Club and a plebe for The Pirates of Lancaster.

He received his BA from Denison University and his Associates Degree from Mesa Community College in Arizona as part of becoming a licensed Funeral Director in Pennsylvania.

Grace C. Nguyen Bond
Attorney, Blakinger Thomas

Grace is a shareholder of Blakinger Thomas and practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, employment, business, and health care law. Grace’s passion for helping others is what led her to pursue a career as an attorney.

As a member of the Estate Planning and Administration and Business practice groups, Grace represents businesses and individuals in business succession and estate planning as well as general business counseling. As a member of the Employment and Health Care groups, Grace frequently counsels employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, as well as on Affordable Care Act and employee benefit compliance.

Grace graduated from Widener University School of Law, J.D. and Temple University, B.B.A., magna cum laude. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Lancaster Bar Association. Grace is chair of the Board of Directors at Friendship Communities, serves on Hospice & Community Care’s Planned Giving Council, and is a member of the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s Forever Lancaster. She is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Lancaster’s Core Class.
