Mary E. Graner Capital Asset Endowment Fund

The Mary E. Graner Capital Asset Endowment Fund was created in honor of Mary E. Graner, who served the organization as President for nearly 26 years and was one of then, Hospice of Lancaster County’s, first volunteers. During her tenure, the organization obtained Medicare certification. Mary led the building of the Essa Flory Center on Good Drive in Lancaster, the first freestanding hospice inpatient center in Pennsylvania, and the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center and Pathways Center for Grief & Loss in Mount Joy, in addition to numerous other accomplishments. Mary Graner retired from what was then Hospice of Lancaster County in December, 2008.

Income from The Mary E. Graner Capital Asset Endowment Fund maintains Hospice & Community Care’s facilities and grounds including landscaping, beautification and interior and exterior furnishings for patients, families and staff.

Hospice & Community Care has established endowment funds for the purpose of providing income to be used for specific needs. The principal remains invested in order to perpetuate the fund for future generations.
