The Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center — Visitation Update

For the safety of our patients and families, the staff caring for them and all the visitors to our facility, the following Visitor Policies are in effect. Please note that Hospice & Community Care is now requiring a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of a patient’s discharge from the hospital for direct admissions to our Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center.

Visitors of all ages are limited to four per patient in the building at any one time

The Inpatient Center grounds offer adequate bench seating in both shaded and sunny areas to accommodate visitors waiting to visit with their loved ones. We encourage large groups to schedule visitation among one another to minimize long waiting periods outside. Families are welcome to remain in their cars while waiting their turn to visit.

All visitors to the Inpatient Center will have their temperature checked and must answer COVID-related questions at the entrance to our facility. Should a visitor’s temperature be greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, they will not be permitted to visit. This is to protect both patients and our staff.

Visitors are only permitted to visit if they answer “no” to all the following questions:

  • Are you experiencing or have you experienced within the past 14 days any of the following symptoms?
    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Shortness of Breath
    • Chills
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Muscle pain
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • In the last 14 days, have you had close personal contact with someone with the above symptoms?
  • In the last 14 days, have you had close personal contact with someone diagnosed with or under investigation for COVID-19?

Visitors are required to wear a mask in the Inpatient Center hallways or lobby. Masks are optional in the patient’s room. Visitors are required to wear masks when Hospice staff are in the room providing care or move within 6 feet of staff. Face shields alone do not count.

Visitors are asked to take turns visiting if they arrive with more than four visitors; those not visiting are to remain outside of the facility away from the entrance doors. Visitors are required to enter and exit through the main entrance. Patient patio entrances are restricted.

Visitors are limited to the patient’s room and are asked to not enter the kitchen or other public areas of the Inpatient Center at this time.

Should any visitors fail to comply with these Visitor Policies, they will be asked to leave and this may lead to loss of total visitation rights.

Visitors are encouraged to speak with a staff member with any questions.
