An overnight weekend camp for grieving children
Camp Chimaqua is an overnight weekend camp for grieving children ages 6-12. It is held at Camp Donegal in York County, June 10–12, 2016 from Friday afternoon through late Sunday morning.
Our focus is on helping your child learn about loss, develop coping skills and build self-confidence. This is achievable through fun-filled activities and opportunities for small- and large-group sharing.
The Camp is staffed by professional counselors and specially trained volunteers who provide companionship, support and supervision. A camp nurse is available through the duration of the camp.
Nestled in the rolling hills on the west shore of the Susquehanna River in south central Pennsylvania Camp Donegal has 128 acres of woods, fields and tumbling brooks. The setting includes rustic lodges, cabins, a swimming pool, trails and other facilities.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Pathways counselors meet with families to determine if camp wil best meet your child's needs. Thanks to the Hospice Circle of Friends and community support, the cost to attend Camp Chimaqua is $25 per child. Financial assistance is available. Call the Pathways Center at (717) 391-2413 or (800) 924-7610 to obtain more information.
